Popcaanz Conference June 2012

I’ll be attending the 2012 annual POPCAANZ (Popular Culture Association of Australia and New Zealand) conference over the next few days. I’ll be giving a paper on entertainers and soldier audiences during the First World War.

The Whizz-bangs were a popular British military concert party.

I’ll also be giving a paper at ‘Revealing the Reader’ History of Reading symposium organised by Monash University’s Centre for the Book on Australian soldiers’ reading in the First and Second World Wars.

I am looking forward to both.
